    • Beefeater
    • Bombay Sapphire
    • Global
    • Gordon's
    • Hendrick's
    • Melchers Maxi
    • Melville
    • Schenley
    • Tanqueray
  • 60 ml (2 oz.) dry gin
  • 30 ml (1 oz.) lemon juice
  • Pinch of sugar
  • Ice cubes
  • Lime wedge

Preparation


  1. 1 Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass containing ice.
  2. 2 Mix using mixing spoon.
  3. 3 Strain over glass using an ice strainer.
  4. 4 Garnish with lime wedge.

Pro Tip


For a better tasting Gimlet, use Rose's lime juice instead of lemon juice and sugar. Oddly enough, Rose’s lime juice tastes better than real lemon juice, thanks to its uniquely sweet taste.

Did you know


To encourage marines to consume Vitamin C and thus prevent scurvy, Dr. Thomas Desmond Gimlette, member of the British Navy, mixed lime juice and gin. The marines called the combination a “Gimlet” in honour of its inventor.
