• 45 ml (1 1/2 oz.) tequila

• Citrus liqueur

  • Cointreau
  • Grand Marnier
  • Meagher
  • Meaghers
  • PremiXXX
• 8 ml (1/4 oz.) citrus liqueur
• Juice of 1/2 a lime
• Ice cubes
• Fine salt
• 1 lime wedge

1. 1 Rim a margarita glass with fine salt.
2. 2 Pour the tequila and citrus liqueur into a shaker filled with ice cubes.
3. 3 Add the lime juice.
4. 4 Shake vigorously for 8 to 10 seconds.
5. 5 Strain into the margarita glass using an ice strainer.
6. 6 Garnish with the lime wedge.

For a perfectly slushy consistency, make this drink in the electric blender with a lot of ice.

Did you know

The Margarita was invented in 1948 by Margarita Sames of Mexico. When entertaining guests from all over the globe, she served a mixture of tequila, lime juice and Cointreau. These guests were delighted by the cocktail and honoured their host by naming the drink after her.
