  • White rum

    • Bacardi
    • Captain Morgan
    • Carioca
    • Havana
    • Lamb's
  • 45 ml (1 1/2 oz.) Bacardi Superior white rum
  • 60 ml (2 oz.) club soda
  • 12 leaves of fresh mint
  • 1 lime, cut into quarters
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • Ice cubes

Preparation


  1. 1 Place the mint leaves and 2 or 3 lime quarters in a highball glass and crush using a muddler.
  2. 2 Add the sugar, white rum and ice cubes.
  3. 3 Top up with club soda.
  4. 4 Stir with a mixing spoon.
  5. 5 Garnish with a lime quartier and a mint leave.

Pro Tip


- Add a few drops of Angostura bitters (a concentrated blend of aromatic bitters sold in grocery stores) to enhance the taste of your perfect Mojito.

- You can also replace the sugar with cane syrup (simple syrup).

Did you know


Discovered in Cuba sometime between 1910 and 1920 when the Cuban mafia was in power, this minty drink was originally called the Draque. The recipe for the Draque was drawn up in the mid-1800s, but once rum was added to the ingredients, the cocktail became known as the Mojito.
